Math

September11

This week in math, we have been looking at whole numbers and the various ways to represent them. For example, the number 3456 (standard form) can be written as three thousand four hundred fifty six (words); or 3000 + 400 + 50 + 6 (expanded form); or we can use base ten blocks to show its value. We have talked about where in our everyday lives we see numbers like this and will begin to learn how to compare large numbers. We are also working on addition with and without carrying using multi-digit numbers. As always, any extra practice students do at home with these skills is beneficial.
